Drive In Movies

As my first post, I wanted to share our experience at the drive in movie last night. Talk about RANDOM. 8:40 pm show. We leave at 7. Hit Powell's candy shope with Brady (our good looking six month, 64 pound, old Boxer/Blue Tick Hound mix) and Colby my 11-year old nephew. Colby got candy, Brady was just eye-candy for people walking by. After the candy store, we picked up dinner to go with intent to eat at the show. We got to the drive-in by 8:20. Everyone else had the same great idea we did of course. Good weather, nice night, let's go to the movies! Let me back up...did I say my puppy gets car sick? No I missed that. Well he does. They say he will grow out of it... wonder when this will happen? The cars lined up for the drive-in were massive. At least twenty cars in front of us in our lane. It took 30 minutes to get to the ticket counter. Brady did get sick. At that point, I was thinking, maybe we should turn around. The movie had started already by the way! We found the radio station and were watching it while in line. Oh did I mention that they only take cash? Where is the sign for that you ask? No where! So, while Becky cleaned up the doggie mess, I took Colby to the bathroom and hit the atm. Movie is still going by the way... no way to hit pause. I had to face the ticket counter again.... let me just say this... when you are faced with fifty cars trying to pay for tickets, glaring at you... all I could do was look apologetically at the cars in front and not feel stupid for missing the fact that this was a cash only adventure. We then finally piled back into the car to find a spot. Note to those that want to go to the drive in: If you have a new car, figure out how to turn off the interior lights BEFORE going to the movies! Here is how it went: 10 minutes to find out how to turn lights off, 10 minutes to make sure we were all settled, 5 minutes to figure out how to keep the radio on with the car off, and another 5 to get the puppy adjusted so he would hang out--all while trying to not piss of the other car occupants in the cars next to us due to our lights and other issues. We had to eat in the dark too. That was hilarious. Clean car is not so clean anymore. All in all, we missed the first half of the movie and were laughing the whole time. Good times.
